The error caused by air temperature variations is a major (often the overwhelmingly biggest) component of environmental errors. AcWaCo compensates some 95..98% of this major error. Acoustic measurements of the refractive index have no response time so the target accuracy of measurement is achieved in milliseconds.
In addition to air temperature, the speed of sound also depends on air pressure, relative humidity and carbon dioxide concentration. AcWaCo monitors these conditions using high-quality environmental sensors.
